Trolls: Original Motility Motion picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack anthology to the 2022 DreamWorks Blitheness moving-picture show Trolls, released on September 23, 2022 past RCA Records. The soundtrack is produced primarily by singer Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, and Shellback. It features work from Timberlake himself, along with Anna Kendrick, Ron Funches, Zooey Deschanel and Gwen Stefani, who all voice characters in the film, as well every bit World, Wind & Burn and Ariana Grande.[1] The anthology was certified Platinum in Commonwealth of australia and Double Platinum in the United States. The vocal "Can't Cease the Feeling!" was nominated for an Academy Accolade and won a Grammy Honor.

Background [edit]

After being announced as the vox to the lead graphic symbol in the musical comedy Trolls opposite Anna Kendrick,[2] Billboard reported that Justin Timberlake too signed on to write and perform original music for the picture.[3] Timberlake said in an interview:

It kind of all happened at the same time. I've been friends with the Katzenbergs for years, and Jeffrey had always spoken to me nigh doing a DreamWorks Animation film. I believe his line was, "We tin't permit Elton accept all the fun," and I've e'er said, "If the right thing comes upwards, let's exercise it." … The directors brought me to the DreamWorks campus and pitched me the motion picture and the character. And when I came out of the room Jeffrey was there, and he said, "And at that place's this other thing you lot could practice…"[four]

Past the time Timberlake joined the project, there was notwithstanding some original music needed to exist written for the movie. Timberlake planned to cover the disco genre among the variety of pop songs present in the film.[4] For the soundtrack album, World, Air current & Burn down re-recorded "September" with Timberlake and Kendrick.[v]

Commercial performance [edit]

The soundtrack peaked at number one on the ARIA Charts,[vi] three on the Us Billboard 200 anthology chart, four on the New Zealand Albums Chart,[7] and four on the UK Albums Chart.[viii] It received Platinum certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America[9] and the Australian Recording Industry Association,[x] and a Golden certification by the British Phonographic Industry.[eleven] In the United States, information technology has sold 573,000 copies by April 2017,[12] and was the yr's tenth highest selling album in the country with 522,000 sold throughout 2017.[xiii]

The lead single, "Can't Stop the Feeling!" performed by Justin Timberlake, was released on May 6, 2016, and reached number one on the official charts of 17 countries, including the US Billboard Hot 100.[14]

In 2017, Trolls was ranked as the 11th most popular album of the yr on the Billboard 200.[xv]

Two years later the soundtrack was released, it was ranked equally the 80th near pop album of 2022 on the Billboard 200.[16]

Accolades [edit]

Trolls was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 2022 St. Louis Gateway Moving-picture show Critics Clan.[17] For his work on the soundtrack, Justin Timberlake was nominated for Outstanding Music Supervision – Picture, along with All-time Soundtrack From a Moving picture, at the 2022 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. At the ceremony, "Can't Stop the Feeling!" won All-time Song Written for an Animated Picture show.[eighteen] The album was nominated at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards for Top Soundtrack/Bandage Album[19] and at the American Music Awards for Top Soundtrack.[twenty]

"Can't Stop the Feeling!" won the Grammy Laurels for Best Song Written for Visual Media,[21] and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.[22] Timberlake received the Hollywood Song Award for "Can't Finish the Feeling!" at the 2022 Hollywood Film Awards.[23] It was also nominated for the Golden Earth Accolade for Best Original Song,[24] Critics' Pick Award for All-time Song,[25] and Satellite Accolade for Best Original Song.[26]
